Gadaa Journal/Barruulee Gadaa

Gadaa Journal is an open access, peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary bilingual journal (online and print version) published biannually by the Institute of Oromoo Studies (IOS) at Jimma University. It is a double-blind, peer-reviewed, open-access refereed journal aspiring to have a brand value among the world’s multidisciplinary journals. The journal publishes original, multidisciplinary, scientific (theoretical and empirical) research in all fields of studies focusing on Oromoo and accepts articles that address aspects of the totality of Oromoo life in space and time.

Manuscript Withdrawal and Retraction Policy 1. Conditions for Withdrawal Request: Authors may request to withdraw a submitted manuscript prior to publication only under compelling and legitimate circumstances (e.g., discovery of fundamental errors in data or unresolved authorship disputes). All withdrawal requests must be submitted in writing to the Editor-in-Chief, accompanied by an explicit explanation of the reason and a written agreement signed by all co-authors. A manuscript is not considered withdrawn until formal written confirmation is issued by the Editorial Office. 2. Prevention of Unethical Withdrawal (Exploitation Policy): Gadaa Journal adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) principles. Unreasonable or unethical withdrawal, specifically withdrawing a manuscript after peer review comments have been provided in order to submit the improved manuscript to another journal is strictly prohibited. In cases of unjustified post-review withdrawal or simultaneous submission: • The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject future submissions from the authors for a designated period. • The journal may notify the authors' home institution or the target journal regarding the ethical breach. • The manuscript's history and peer-review record will remain permanently archived in Gadaa Journal’s system.
