Abstract

This review paper investigates the role of dynamic capabilities (DCs) in firm success, across various sectors. DCs are more influence firms’ success more in volatile environments. For this, the study employed a systematic literature review (SLR) and bibliometric analysis, based on Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) 2020 guidelines. In this case, a total of 69 articles were extracted from databases such as CrossRef, and Scopus using eligibility criteria. For data quality Web of Science Master Journal List was used. The review focuses on studies between 2011 and 2024, based on prior research. The collected data was analyzed using SPSS V.25 for SLR and VOSviewer for bibliometrics and synthesized using the table. The study revealed that firms with strong DCs( sensing, seizing, and reconfiguration) are more successful and competitive in dynamic business environments. Furthermore, the study revealed that the majority (57%) of DC research employed mediation as a methodological approach that was not extensively explored in previous studies. Also as in the review, about 24 articles (34.8%) showed both financial and non-financial outcomes of DCs. Based on these the study recommends expanding DCs by introducing new dimensions, mediators, and moderators to better reflect the realities in dynamic business environments. By addressing the challenges identified in this review, future research can advance the more successful application of DCs across diverse industries, particularly in emerging economies.
