Abstract

Blindness is one of the most depressing disabilities that can occur in life. Its social, psychological and economical impacts are tremendous. In most developing countries where the economy is unable to establish or sustain rehabilitative programs, the blind are left to indulge in one and only one form of profession to sustain themselves. begarry. Those fortunate enough to have a supportive family may not go to such extremes. Atleast one member of their family will take the responsibility for the day to day care of the blind individual; depriving the family of an important source of income. The economical impact is, therefore, said to be double as two bread winners are isolated from income generation activities for the family.
